Once a rumor, now confirmed by Entertainment Weekly: "Niggas In Paris" and "Watch N' Learn" producer Hit-Boy is producing for Britney's upcoming eight studio album!
On the producer front, this confirms Darkchild, Danja and Hit-Boy. I'm maintaining the speculation that Diplo will be involved at some point.
Also, the source at Entertainment Weekly has debunked Elijah Blake's statements that he is involved with the new album. Not sure what that's about, I don't think Elijah Blake would lie about something like that publicly. I guess we'll see what happens.
The article also cites "seasoned Spears vets helping out too" and name drops will.i.am. Honestly, if they do work together again, I hope it's strictly as a producer. Will.i.am has a nasty habit of cramming himself as a featuring artist onto all the tracks he produces. Will.i.am is a great producer, but unless his work is "OMG" hotness, I hope he doesn't make the final cut. Two Britney/Will songs is enough, thank you!
Anyways, this upcoming album already feels different than any Britney album in recent memory, the fact that Britney, herself, as well as her team have been more open in talking about it, dropping hints, etc. gives me hope that Album 8 won't be the rushed public relations disaster the "Femme Fatale" era was.

ReplyDeletehas the rumor of pharrellexecutive producing the album been confirmed yet?
ReplyDeleteNope, that is from January 2012 and Shakira confirmed that the Britney duet is fake, so most likely that is fake also.

DeleteRumors of Pharrell executive producing is FALSE, we don't even know if he's producing for the album. While we're here, speculation of will.i.am executive producing is completely false as well.
