Capital FM is reporting that Katy Perry is aiming for a summer 2013 release of her third studio album.
Well, it's pretty much a given that Katy is going to release new music next year considering she's already been snapped multiple times in studio with friend and singer/songwriter Bonnie McKee, as well as reports regarding her and longtime collaborator Greg Wells working on tracks.
Not to mention, Katy has already confirmed what she's aiming for on album number three:
"My music is about to get real f---ing dark. You'd never see my face because my hair would be in it."

"It will be a much darker album than the previous one. It was inevitable, after what I went through."

Believe it or not, "Teenage Dream" came out more than two years ago, and by the time her third album comes out in 2013, it will have been three years since "California Gurls" had me prancing around my room like a Fairy.
It only seems like Katy is rushing right back out with a new album because each of her eight singles had such unprecedented longevity and success. Whether you like her or not, she's definitely handling her career the right way.

ReplyDeleteI hope she doesn't go too "dark" and different. People and even artists themselves complain about their own style and about how much they want to change, yet their current style is what made them who they are. It's great to try something new, but don't forget what made you successful. Just because it's similar, it doesn't mean people can't still enjoy it.
