Guetta: Gaga's 'Born This Way' Disappointing

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

After some other artists *coughs* Madonna *coughs* saying a few words about Lady Gaga's latest album "Born This Way", Dj David Guetta has opened up about his thoughts on the album, saying the tracks were "very disappointing" as a result.

Guetta and Gaga were suppose to work together on some songs for "Born This Way", but the plan ultimately fell through. Guetta regrets not working with Gaga though:
"Yeah, because I think we could have done something amazing on her last record, Born This Way. And her last record was to me very disappointing. She's an amazing artist, and she deserves to be always looking ahead, like she did with her first album."
What do you think of Guetta's thoughts?

  2. You left the most important part of this article out:

Guetta: Gaga's new album will be absolutely crazy!

"But actually I know for a fact - because I know who she's working with now - that the next album is going to be absolutely crazy. He's someone really good, a young kid."

  3. I loved Born This Way but he's right Gaga promised The Album Of The Decade and honestly it wasn't it was different from what Gaga used to do. But about Guetta his album wasn't that good either it had a good tracks but it was always the sams

  4. Perhaps it could have something to do with Guetta believing he has to be the featuring artist or the main artist on every track he produces? Whilst RedOne, Fernando Garibay and DJ White Shadow are quite happy to accept royalties from songwriting and production.

Born This Way is actually a pop masterpiece if you scrape away the layers of hype Little Monsters have created.

  7. It's true. And don't nobody be saying "Oh you come back when your album sells a million in it's first week", cause let's be serious, Born This Way was on sale for $0.99.

Coming from a Britney fan, I think BTW definitely does have some good songs on it, almost everything is good except Americano, it's just good on a different level. To me, it's like one of those albums where you listen to it once and then you can't listen to it again for like a few days. Everything on the album just kinda feels the same to me. It's a good album and everything, but yeah, on terms of 'Gaga Level' with her previous albums, I was extremely disappointed with BTW. I can only hope that ARTPOP goes back to original good pop roots.

Favorite song off BTW is Black Jesus + Amen Fashion by the way.

  8. It's like Rebecca Black was telling Adele that 21 was a lame break-up themed album

  9. Maybe he was expecting a dance forward album like how The Fame Monster evolved from The Fame. To be honest at first I was disappointed when I first heard Born This Way, but now I love it. Her album is very all over the place with musical genres, and at first I was dissapointed it didn't stay electropop, but now I love it.

  10. Personally, I don't see what's disappointing about Born This Way album. It's completely understandable that Gaga wants to progress as an artist, and it really shows on her latest album. Her voice sounds crystal clear and her sounds are very explorative and original e.g. infusing the sound of saxophone in an electro-pop track such as The Edge of Glory is previously unheard of, etc, and her approach to arts is bold and innovative e.g. mixing pop with rock (Marry The Night) with electronic (Scheibe) with rock and roll ( You and I) compared to her last two albums. It's amazing how her voice still sounds so 'raw' and soulful amid the high level of instrument noise in almost every song, and not to the mention, her personality and presence have never been so strong in songs. And the lyrics are brilliant.

You know, it's not easy to be able to create music that's personal, artistic/ edgy, profound, whilst still sounds catchy and downright relateable at the same time. And she achieved it with Born This Way album. It's definitely her milestone.

  11. el!
    oh!
el! at guetta criticizing anyone else's music considering the dreck he delivers to the tasteless masses on the reg.

on born this was gaga sacrificed the sleazy, dirty, sexy, eurodisco dance sound of the fame for a larger message and now that she's gotten that message across she's gettin' back to her original sound or "not mature" as she put it.
