Billboard: Clarkson Tops Hot 100, Adele Still Slaying Album 200

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Major congratulations are in order for Kelly Clarkson who has been seeing incredible radio audience and spin updates, as well as the hot seat on the iTunes chart. The extra 237,000 spins was enough to ward off any competitors for the #1 spot on the digital charts and the Hot 100!
Also doing great thing this week is Adele, who is refusing to leave her seat on top of the Billboard 200 like she's Rosa Parks (and will soon go down in history, but for a completely, less important reason). Another week at #1 and she'll replace "The Bodyguard Soundtrack" at most weeks at #1, all-time.

Less impressive is Lana Del Rey's debut on the Billboard 200, bowing at #2 with 77,000 copies. Pretty slow compared to how she smashed the UK charts. I'm sure she's unbothered and will sell much more in the future.

Hot 100:
1. Kelly Clarkson - "Stronger"
2. Adele - "Set Fire to the Charts"
3. Flo-Rida - "Good Feeling"
4. Rihanna - "We Found Radio Deals"
5. David Guetta/Nicki Minaj - "Turn Me On"
6. Jessie J - "Domino"
7. Tyga - "Rack City"
8. Snoop Dogg/Wiz Khalifa - "You Wild & Free" (w/ Bruno Mars)
9. LMFAO - "Sexy & I Know It"
10. Bruno Mars - "It Will Rain"

Queen Madge fell just outside the top 10 at #13 with "Give Me All Your Payola" (featuring Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.) and 115,000 digital copies.

Top 200 Albums:
1. Adele - 21
2. Lana Del Rey - Born To Slay
3. Leonard Cohen - Old Ideas
4. 2012 Grammy Nominees
5. Kidz Bop 21
6. Drake - Take Care
7. Tim McGraw - Emotional Traffic
8. Fred Hammond - God Love & Remembrance
9. LMFAO - Sorry for Party Rocking
10. Rihanna - Talk That Talk
