P!nk Secures No. 1 Album, Nelly Furtado Flops Horribly

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

P!nk's sixth studio album, "The Truth About Love" has sold 280K copies in its first week and will become her first No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200...EVER.

G.O.O.D. Music's "Cruel Summer" will come in a strong second place with 216K sold.

....But what happens when your singles are a non-factor, your promotional campaign is in-efficient and your first major album in six years has virtually zero anticipation among the general public?

Nelly Furtado's new album "The Spirit Indestructible" isn't even in the Top 50 on Hits Daily Double's album sales chart. Based on the sales chart, Nelly is slated to sell under 7,000 copies and is assured to debut very low when the Billboard 200 is officially unveiled.

Only one thing comes to mind:

Everyone figured Nelly would have a tough time selling, but I don't think anyone expected this amount of failure.

"Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen sold 41K copies, as initially predicted.
