Maybe I'm high right now, but I'm pretty sure Pop Prince Timberlake just gave us something in the opposite direction anyone expected. Instead of serving up the typical EDM non-sense we've been force-fed by radio, JT has is following the same route Solange Knowles took and I'm expecting Beyonce to take in her next era. Maybe Christina was ahead of her time by releasing a smoother song with "Your Body." LOL Just kiding.

I love it...and the initial 'blah' reaction from the majority of my Twitter timeline reminds me of 'Scream & Shout' and 'Locked Out of Heaven'..give em a week and they'll be blasting this.

It does sound almost TOO Robin Thicke-ish though.
Hmmm. I like the song but I feel like this isn't a the single that will catapult him him into the forefront again. Plus, I don't think this is what the general public would want from him right now.

So disappointed tbh! What was he thinking? The song is OK for an album track..but a single..an LEAD single?? What was he thinking??? He sounds great on it but it's kind of like a Roin Thicke reject. And it sounds very outdated. And JayZ does nothing for this song. So sad..

ReplyDeleteJay-Z rap doesn't fit in the song. I don't think it flows, nor do I think the context of what he is rapping applies to the lyrics JT is singing. Other than that I appreciate the fresh perspective JT is taking. I believe a lot of people were expecting "SexyBack" part 2. Now why would he make us wait 6 years for that?
