Less Than 600 Copies Of Leona's New Single Sold

Monday, December 24, 2012

Please re-read that headline again, and react appropriately:

I mean, once your family, friends and fans buy a copy or two of the single, how much of that >600 was really from the general public?

Earlier this week, the UK's official singles chart was unveiled and Leona Lewis' recently released second single "Lovebirds" was nowhere to be found in the TOP 200. On top of that, the 200th song that managed to make the chart only sold 600 copies, meaning that Leona's single sold somewhere under 600 copies. What kind of Nelly Furtado-type disaster?

You mean to tell me that a well-established act with the support of a music video and promotion couldn't at least debut within the Top 200 in her own damn territory?

(What a fitting GIF, right?)

This is what she and her team get for not releasing the only smash-worthy song, the album's title track "Glassheart."

  1. What promotion? I live in the UK and this post is the first I'm hearing of this song.
