Scrapped: Carly Rae Jepsen's Vid for 'Curiosity'

Sunday, November 25, 2012

Let us never forget that Carly Rae Jepsen is nearing her thirties (though she wants us to think she's 16). It's no surprise that she wants to have some sex appeal. However, her label wasn't fond of her somewhat sexy video for "Curiosity" which was released before summer in Canada.

Filmed: 5 June 12.
Director: Colin Minihan.
Single Released: 2 May 12 on 604 Records (Canada)*.

Rumor has it that this video was shelved because it was "too sexy" for her new tween demographic. When Carly gained fame worldwide from Call Me Maybe, her Canadian record label 604 Records scrapped the plan for a music video as well.

*Curiosity (single) is from Curiosity (EP) not This Kiss (LP)

  2. Maybe because the video is crap?

Also, at the time Curiosity was only available in Canada and I doubt they would release onto the internet (accessible worldwide) a video to promote a song exclusively sold in Canada because it would hurt sales of the song if they planned to make it a worldwide single.
