You've seen the tracklist and collaborations, now listen to snippets from Rihanna's upcoming album "Unapologetic," which were just released to iTunes.

My quick thoughts/observations on the snippets:
- "Pour It Up" sounds like a 2Chainz song, from the instrumental to the lyrical flow.
- My favorite track based on snippets is probably "Numb."
- The ballads and mid-tempos already sound stronger than those from last album "Talk that Talk"
- The album seems to have some really strong instrumentals, but the hooks aren't infectious...?
- Lots of samples on the album: "Jump" samples "Pony" by Ginuwine and "Love Without Tragedy/Mother Mary" samples The Police's "Message In A Bottle."
what is this mess? trash songs, and a very rushed era.
ReplyDeletefor someone on their seventh album this is embarrassing. This is mediocre if you're being generous. I want 15 minutes back i spent listening. vocals:her worst. lyrics:generous.
ReplyDeletethe only one I liked was "J" whatever that is. the Pony sample was sick. other than that, waste of her and my time.
By far the least excited I have ever been for a Rihanna album since she came on the scene, that includes Talk That Talk
ReplyDeleteNe-Yo did a better job on "Right Now" tbh.
ReplyDeleteOh Rihanna this is a joke right??? Your so funny! Now annouce ur new album named Flower Power produced by Calvin Harrys with the new first single Saphire being a commercial smash please!
ReplyDeleteNot here for this! She tried to build another Rated R, but failed!
Its beter than floplotus
ReplyDeletepressed....
DeleteLying is not cool though.
Deleteanother flop for rihanna
Deleteshe doesnt even have one number 1 album :)))
but relies heavily on dance breaks instead of clever hooks
ReplyDeleteYEAHH and its boring!
The best track prob the David Guetta song
The breakdown of this song sounds just like the breakdown from Glassheart by lewlew, that sounds just like the breakdown from Justin Bibahhh and Menaj Beauty and a Beat!
Nobodys Business sounds like an early madonna song, like in erotica era!
Hoping to get Rihanized! But i guess its just not gonna happen!
Nobody's Business use part of the way u make me feel lyrics ?
ReplyDeleteOh well but u know im not that sad!
ReplyDeleteIn less than a year we will get another Rihanna album soo
stay slayed me!
ReplyDeleteThis is awful!!! What in the hell has gotten into her!?! This album is so boring. Also very trashy/gangster. I'm not excited for any of these songs like I was the last few albums. There were no good pop songs and no good ballads. All boring mid tempo songs.
ReplyDeleteYou mad cause she went back to her Urban roots...
DeleteURBAN ROOTS?!?!?!?! remember that time we were talking about Rihanna and she got rich and then became hood? ain't that backwards?
DeleteRoots??!? If your speaking musically, I dont believe Pon De Replay is urban roots. If your speaking nationality wise..... since when did being black mean you have to swear and talk about drugs in every song?? She usually has a good mix between genres in her other albums but this one is not good.
DeleteIts down......
ReplyDeleteWOW... Nobody's Business is bringing back to the 90's...
ReplyDeleteLEM SIS do your work and put a link that is not down
ReplyDeleteSorry for the wait guys, I have a new embed coming. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT...and i dont even like Rihanna....ahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteH.O.R.R.I.B.L.E
ReplyDeleteflop flop flop
ReplyDeletewhat the F is wrong with Rihanna and what is this mess?... How can she even release this and call it an album? I know its early to judge but this snippets confirm what i was thinking, this era is so rushed and forced its not even cool. She can stay with her rushed music and trashy albums. Im done.
ReplyDeletei loooove every song (except for "loveeeeeee song") based on the leaked snippets.
ReplyDeletethis album will be one of her biggest in america and "right now" will slay the clubs and possibly the globe.
i love that you naysayers are gonna be running behind the bandwagon once the album is released, mark my words.
"one of her biggest in america" ? gurl. you funny.
Deleteonce it's released i'll be ki-cackling down at you naysayers.
Deletelook at the free press she's receiving form the pressed and downtrodden. she's only started doing promo for this album a week ago and the first single is already a u.s. top five hit (soon to be #1) and a u.k. #1.
once the promo train is at full speed she will slay the world (yet again).
"...how was i to know that my love was delusional/nobody told me how to mend a broken heart and soul/in love, we all will fall, but we fell a little harder/what am i supposed to do with this heart?/(with this heart?)..."
