According to the Associated Press, the King B herself will blaze the stage at the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime show. The Super Bowl is the most coveted promotional slot of ALL promotional slots in the entire world and to say that this is MAJOR for Beyoncé would be beyond an understatement.
Unlike Madonna, who put on a stellar performance last year, but used a huge promotional opportunity to promote a B-Side, Beyoncé will most likely pull out all the stops and debut a major track that will have everyone twerkin in the stands. Looks like we finally have a tentative date on when we can expect new music!
Beyoncé is not only today's most electric performer but has neutrality that recent Super Bowl performers haven't had. Madonna was seen has skewing too feminine and gay for such a masculine sport, many felt The Who in 2010 skewed too old for younger demos. Beyoncé has a huge backing by two of the biggest rappers in the game, which is more likely to appeal to men. She's young, relevant and caters to pop and urban markets.
I totally called this a few months ago, I also predicted that Jay-Z and Kanye West will make guest appearances during the show and that "Lift Off" (Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Kanye's song from 2011 album "Watch the Throne") would be performed because its a great Super Bowl Halftime show song. *steps of pedestal*
This marks the third year in a row that a pop/mainstream act will perform at the show after years of boring rock n' roll acts that catered to an older demographic, as a result of the Janet Jackson fiasco.
The announcement is expected to be made official tomorrow.
This year's Super Bowl will be on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
No doubt it would be a superb and amazing half time show but, sorry, Beyoncé masculine? She is a gay diva!
ReplyDeleteAnd who are excited for a new Beyonce single after her recent flops?
That's why she's a gay diva.
DeleteGays see her like a men and they love her masculinity ahahaha
everybody loves her though. even straight guys in my school can list the 4 tracklist in order.
DeleteShe'll do great. She puts on a good performance. Gonna be hard to top Madonna's though...
ReplyDeleteGonna be hard to top Madonna's? Psh, that performance was at the kindergarten level, and Beyonce's will no doubt be at the PhD level. Oh, and she won't have to bank on Nicki Minaj and MIA to make the performance barely interesting.
ReplyDeletelol at hater Anonymous.
ReplyDeleteJust because Madonna is the Queen of pop you are hella jealous.
