Bad Choice: Leona Reveals Second 'Glassheart' Single

Monday, October 22, 2012

Leona should be arrested and charged for the attempted murder of her album "Glassheart."

Today, Leona Lewis confirmed that the third second single from "Glassheart" will be the piano-ballad "Fireflies" (another ballad...shocking, right?).

"Fireflies" isn't a bad song, but when your album sales are staring at career-worst opening sales, you release a HIT - not another ballad. We ALL know you can do ballads, Leona - it's time to switch it up and give the public something fresh. The album's title track "Glassheart" isn't just the best song on the album, it's one of the better songs this YEAR - why Leona continues to overlook this track is beyond me.

Oh well, frankly she deserves the low album sales when you avoid smash hits sitting on your own album.

I highly doubt there will be a "Glassheart" review on this site, but if you have heard the album - you'll know why this single choice is so puzzling. Damn, Leona even "Favorite Scar" would be a better single choice - it's a great song and it at least shows a different side to you. "Fireflies" is just the same ol', same ol'.

  4. She was probably too busy thinking about how great she is to consider what would be a great single.

  5. Please. A ballad is a perfect choice to release now. In the UK, announcing single now would mean the perfect timing for Christmas single released mid-late November. There would be plenty of promo opportunities like carol events where Fireflies wouldn't sound out of place amongst other Christmas songs. Leona is a staple in this department and I'm sure this is why this is chosen. Most importantly, radio play would be more promising, something that previous Leona songs were lacking. Obviously Fireflies don't make a great second single and that Lovebirds is a better ballad, but everything wouldn't be like this if the album wasn't pushed back 50 times. Glassheart of course is one of the best songs on the album, but this is not the time to release it. Fireflies for christmas and glassheart for summer (that is if fireflies dosen't flop), regardless, Glassheart will flop even harder in Christmas.

  7. The worst thing is that i see Fireflies flopping so hard, that Glassheart (album) wont have anymore singles...
If the sales for Echo were much stronger and after I Got You she didnt had anymore singles i cant see how this album will...

Well this happened with Madonna in Hard Candy after mega-smash 4 Minutes and Europe kinda-hit Give It To Me, she didnt release anymore singles.
But with MDNA, after Blahhhhh Give Me All Your Luvin, the amazing but flop Girl Gone Wild, the Hello rip-off Turn Up The Radio, now Superstar is the next single... Kinda boring i know
Should be, Gang Bang, Im Addicted, Love Spent or I Dont Give A
