Miley Cyrus Talks Pharrell & New Album

Thursday, August 9, 2012

I read this and turned a cartwheel! Miley is really looking to release a fantastic album, with a line up producers that seems to be reminiscent of a young Britney Spears. Most recently, Cyrus spoke about working with Pharrell on a followup track to "Can't Be Tamed."

Earlier this summer, it was revealed that Cyrus hit up a few more urban producers to pen tracks, including Hit Boy. Looks like she's working on her coming-of-age album.

Miley Cyrus has spoken about her new album.

The singer, who has teamed up with Pharrell Williams for the follow-up to 2010's Can't Be Tamed, revealed the story behind how they came to working together for the project."Pharrell said, 'Don't be offended because this is how I talk, but [I thought], that bitch is actually living. She's not sitting there with her Momager's chain on her door. I want to free that bitch. I want her out of her cage'," Cyrus told Marie Claire.

"I'd never worked like that before. I was talking to him like he was an older brother, and everything I said was going onto the track."

Cyrus added that she has recorded several songs with the producer, which are all heavily autobiographical.

"[I told my manager Bruce Flohr], 'I don't need the money. I don't care if I make a dime on this. Let me make a good record'. I got in there with Pharrell, and it was magic. Oh, dude, I'm so happy."

Cyrus recently joked that she spent an hour "stalking Zayn from One Direction" online while having a sleepover with gay friends.

As long as it's better than that Morning Sun trash, I'm excited about it.
