20. Mariah Carey - The Emancipation of Mimi

There's nothing sexier than a Diva, and this era ushered Mariah into legendary grand Diva status. Take a look at the videos for "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off." Mimi returned with her big voice, big boobs, and signature over the top grandeur to make this one of her sexiest eras ever. 

19. Miley Cyrus - Can't Be Tamed

Oh, Miley. With her large wings, teased hair, and faux-lesbian dance romps, she made the pop gods proud with her sudden crossover into sex-symbol status. While we didn't get to see a whole lot from this era, take it as a precursor. I'm sure we'll see a lot more from sexy Miley as years go on.

18. Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded 

Nicki was always "sexy" during her mixtape phase, covering King and XXL, but her sexy really took off starting with "Superbass."

Roman Reloaded brought us Nicki Minaj, the sexy pop star, which is a whole different kind of sexy. We found her with less and less clothing, more flattering hairstyles and dancing a bit more.

No matter how awesomely bad the Heidi Montag tribute we call "Starships" was, we can't deny that Onika was a bombshell in the video. Oh, and "Beez in Da Trap" ... Dear Lord.

17. Destiny's Child - Destiny Fulfilled and Lovin' It

It was almost awkward to see these ladies come out of their shells and show their sexy sides. Everything up until this point had been subtle, but for some reason, during their final era, they let is all hang out.

They were beautiful and proud of their bodies, and they made this era a very well handled showcase of what being a sexy woman was all about.

16. Lil Kim - Notorious K.I.M.

Before all of the ridiculous face surgeries, Lil Kim was actually quite the sex symbol! She modeled for a handful of large designer labels, including Versace.

She always called herself a "black barbie," and she really was one... now she's just plastic.

15. Madonna - Confessions on a Dancefloor

Madonna has had many sexy eras, but what helps Confessions stand out from Hard Candy or Erotica is that she didn't overdo it! She got her sexy on in an age-appropriate manner that didn't make everyone watch her feel uncomfortable... or really young.


Her flexibility was a little weird, though.

Gwen Stefani is a vampire. If you don't believe my, look at a picture of her from the nineties and compare it to her in the "Settle Down" video. The bitch doesn't age!


Gwen Stefani was a total fantasy video game character during this era, and she was sexy in a very class, yet animated way. Even her tomboyish "Hollaback Girl" look was sexier than anything than anyone you have ever met has ever been.

13. Usher - Confessions

Remember that year that Usher finally bought a shirt? One that wasn't unbuttoned? Yeah, this was that year... and for some reason, he was extremely sexy from that point on.

Maybe it was the way he matured, maybe he had a little more swag. I don't remember, I'm too busy staring at his nipple to remember.

12. Lady Gaga - The Fame

Is still hot when she wants to be, but back before she stopped eating meat and wearing it, she couldn't help but ooze sex appeal. She still has her nice body, but a lot of her costumes take away from her natural sex appeal.

Who wants to have sexy with a monster? Don't answer that.

11. J Lo - J LO

Jennifer Lopez has never really not been sexy, but I would definitely say this was her peak!

This was back when J.Lo still had a little hood in her and was hanging out with Diddy and Ja Rule... Remember Ja Rule? Hopefully not.

Of course now she's topping Most Beautiful lists, so I could have really put any era up for her.

10. Pussycat Dolls - PCD

It's so hard to believe that they mattered at one point. For quite a while, too! Oh, the fads American Music goes through. Much like Danity Kane, they smashed REALLY HARD for like a day and then all of a sudden they were gone and no one cared.

With Nicole Scheisniiewubfwer on the lead mic, these girls we just a bunch of prowling sex kittens. They did things most strippers could only dream of doing.

9. Kylie Minogue - Fever

Kylie Minogue very well be an android. She's too perfect.

8. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream

Katy Perry reinvented the "girl next door" for the new oversexed generation.

Simply put, she's a stunning creature that looked amazing even as an extraterrestrial!

She wasn't just controversially sexy because she was lick-locking with cherry chapstick wearing bimbos, she was a walking barbie doll. I don't know if she lost her clothes on her way to her album photoshoot, but I'm glad they were missing. 

Katy Perry is a pinup girl living in the wrong era.

7. Beyoncé - I Am... Sasha Fierce

This was hard because ever era for Beyoncé has been sexy for one reason or another, but who wants a list full of Beyoncé? (Though she did technically make it twice!) 

I chose this era because it had the most growth and creativity. Plus she helped bring back leotards and unitards, and even got Justin Timberlake in one. 

6. Shakira - She Wolf

Let's get one thing straight, Shakira honestly became and stayed one of the sexiest women during her  Laundry Service era. Shakira has a different kind of sex appeal that's humble and relatable. What really pushes her over the edge is the way she moves her body. Let's not get into how she snatched Beyoncé bald in the "Beautiful Liar" video.

The "She Wolf" era was different because it was a more mainstream sexy for Shakira. Almost like her alter-ego, though she didn't have to use made-up personas to slut it up. She just got on stage and popped her pussy like we never knew she could.

5. Christina Aguilera - Stripped

For this era, Christina walked the very thin line between sexy and slutty, often falling off to the slutty side. The "Dirrty" video was basically porn with no nudity. It was so interesting because Christina's image was a lot more clean than Britney's in the beginning, but with this she made a 180, turning up her sultry-meter to maximum levels.

...but even when Christina wasn't rocking costume porn duds, she would astoundingly sexy. In her "Fighter" video, she was sexier than ever, sporting her newly blackened hairstyle that is still my favorite look for her.

4. Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSounds

Justin is the only person on the list who managed to make the list and keep all of his clothes on. There was something else sexy about him during this era, aside from the banging body that we all knew he had under his suits.

Justin came back from his Justified era with a whole new sexy swagger that was irresistible.

3. Janet Jackson - All For You

Dear Janet Jackson,

Please make music again... but more importantly, please come back and show this new wave of pop bitches  what the hell choreography is!

At thirty-something, Janet had a better body than most women 16-25. Abs better than most guys I know.

Also, very few pop starlets can even come close to Janet's performance level, including Mya, pre-KFed Britney, and Ciara... if she could get her shit together.

My favorite thing that happened in this era is the "Son of a Gun" video, where she strutted through a mansion like Tyra Banks wishes she could.

2. Rihanna - Rated R

Rihanna is just sexy. She could be taking a dump on the side of the road, and two weeks later we'd see Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton doing it.

The whole Good Girl Gone Bad era was cute, but she really didn't go bad. She just finally put out an album that didn't become a bore after the first 3 songs and took off half her clothes, which is like the norm in pop music. Rated R is really when Rihanna became a sex symbol and she did it right. She was bold in every aspect, from her wild and sometimes ridiculous hair choices, to her videos which made a lot of gay men and straight women question their sexuality.

1. Britney Spears - In The Zone

...and just now a shit ton of non-Britney fans grunt in disappointment. I beg of you to all put your stanning differences aside and face the music auto-tune. Britney from late-2002 - 2004 is one of the baddest bitches of all time and you will simply have to deal with it.

Where do we begin... The lip-lock with Madonna? How about the two grinding up on each other in the "Me Against the Music" video? Maybe it was the sexy super-spy personas in her "Toxic" video or the nothing-on-but-diamonds outfit. It could have been her sudden obsession with painted on leather outfits. Her all-out dance routines that had her dropping down into the splits, putting her leg over her head and swinging her foot-long golden extensions hard enough to lift her into the stratosphere? Perhaps drowning in a bath tub did it for some of you. It's hard to pinpoint one sexy thing from this era because every time she brushes her teeth in the morning, someone had to change their underwear.
