According to People Magazine, Mariah Carey is very likely to be the biggest name behind the judges table for the next season of American Idol. It totally makes sense because she has an album coming out and just about every bitch from that was out in the 90s is getting a show to help them boost coverage. It worked for Christina and J.Lo (on iTunes), so I'm sure Mariah will have no issue making a big boom with new music.
Carey, 42, may be making her way to the Fox singing competition.
"She's in play," an insider tells PEOPLE. "They are in serious talks."

Don't think so. One of my friends works in the crew for X Factor and said that there's going to be a Mariah Carey week and that she would perform on the next night's results show. So I don't know how that's gonna happen if she's gonna be a judge for American Idol..
