Being a fan of Regina Spektor has led me to become a fan of Fiona Apple because they're pretty similar at their craziest. I love both, but I often wonder which one of them is more weird.
They both released videos this week and they are both very strange but for very different reasons. Regina is more dorky and sometimes confusing. Fiona is more creepy.

Of course you must know my allegiance lies with Regina. She's been my favorite artist for the better part of a decade. Fiona is new to me, but she's a definite contender.

ReplyDeletekinda rude to oversimplify both artists and their work as "weird" because they're not as easily accessible or categorical, but i'm also a huge fan of fiona's work and find her disturbingly relatable in interviews so i'm more than a bit biased.
that said, i'm not much of a fan of regina and parts of the "every single night" video made my skin crawl and gave me cthulu-themed nightmares so i'm going with her.
