Despite recent decent into pop music, Nicki has an history of features that are unquestionably amazing, especially the feature on Kanye West's "Monster," where she sat the industries two most powerful rappers down.
MTV recognized this too and named her the 4th greatest rapper in the game currently. They have been releasing their Hottest MCs in the Game (7th Edition) for over a week now and Nicki has definitely earned her place at #4. I guess she was predicting her future when she told Jay-Z she was coming for him!
10. Wale
9. Wiz Khalifa
8. Big Sean
7. Meek Mill (wait, really? WTF?)
6. Jay-Z
5. Lil Wayne
4. Nicki Minaj
3. Kanye West
2. Drake
1. Rick Ross
Ok, I disagree with #s 7, 5 & 1... but I still think this list is a great rep. of hip-hop's landscape at the moment.
i agree with you, rick ross is fucking talentless and he doesn't deserve to be number one, kanye should be number one.
ReplyDeletetbh I think Drake should be no.1. He released a great album last year, and it's he who made me like rap. He's collabed on a few good tracks, and Take Care is amazing.
ReplyDeleteOk This list has absolutely no validity at ALL. I don't know if some white girl compiled this list honestly whoever did it has no knowledge of hip-hop at all. Rick Ross has never, is not currently and will NEVER be number 1. It has to be between Drake and Lil Wayne. Seriously where is J Cole??? How could they put Wale and Meek Mill on here???
ReplyDeleteRICK ROSS. NUNNA THA
ReplyDeleteALSO;
ReplyDeletethis list seems to be based on popularity and success rather than actual good at rapping - regardless of sales or production.
Iggy Azalea ?
Kendrick Lamar ?
A$AP Rocky ?
Azealia Banks ?
Childish Gambino ?
Asher Roth ?
I can understand that they might not be big,
and then the issue is that the list should be a next big thing list.
I mean I wouldn't expect Childish Gambino to be in the top ten - but I wander what they're basing it on ?
