Oprah, Britney Spears Hollywood's Highest-Paid Women

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Forbes just named (naturally) the Queen of Talk, Oprah, as the highest-paid woman in Hollywood.

But the REAL story here is that 'our very own Pop Princess, now Queen of Pop' - Britney Spears was ranked right behind Oprah, at No. 2. It's Britney, bitch!

So you mean the woman with "waning appeal," who is "ensconced" in a singing competition - still managed to become the second highest-paid woman in Hollywood, 14-years into her music career and coming off one of her weakest eras to-date? Stronger than yesterday, indeed.

The best part is that none of Britney's gross came from her X-Factor contract, but rather the "Femme Fatale" era and endorsements Britney gobbled up from May 2011 through May 2012. Why SHOULD Britney be sad with numbers like that?

Hit it, BGirl:

Some notable names from the list below:

Britney Spears - No. 2

$58 million
Conspicuously absent from our 2011 Celebrity list due to limited touring, Britney blasts back to the top this year with over 75 shows in the past 12 months. She also earns millions from endorsements and a fragrance line with Elizabeth Arden. Her latest album, Femme Fatale, earned platinum certification in the U.S.
Taylor Swift - No. 3

$57 million
Swift benefitted from a huge tour this year, grossing over $1 million per night on more than 65 dates. She continues to cash in on her 2010 album Speak Now, which has now sold over 5 million copies worldwide; she picked up two Grammys for her song "Mean." The young singer-songwriter also earns big as one of the faces of CoverGirl. Her fourth album is due this fall.
Rihanna - No. 5

$53 million
The Barbados-born diva landed on our Celebrity 100 list for the first time thanks to hits including "We Found Love" and "Talk That Talk," as well as endorsements with the likes of Vita Coco and Nivea. Her fragrance, Reb'l Fleur, adds millions more to her coffers, as does her heavy touring schedule that included over 85 shows in the past 12 months. With over 53 million Facebook fans, she's second only to Eminem.
Lady GaGa - No. 6

$52 million
Lady Gaga may have been ousted by JLo on the top spot of FORBES 2012's list of the Most Powerful Celebrities, but she still holds court over some 26 million Little Monsters. She raked in $52 million over the past year, a massive haul for the artist, whose "Born This Way Ball" tour kicked off in April. In addition to the platinum success of her latest album, and the launch of her very own social network, Gaga focused on philanthropic work in 2012. She continues to work with the MAC AIDS Foundation and announced the launch of her own non-profit, the Born This Way Foundation, which is underwritten by the MacArthur Foundation and Harvard University.
Katy Perry - No. 9

$45 million
Quick, who are the only two musicians in history to have five No. 1 singles from the same album? Michael Jackson and Katy Perry. The latter accomplished that feat with 2010 smash Teenage Dream, which continues to garner considerable airplay, and dollars, for the "Firework" singer. Her California Dreams Tour grossed nearly $60 million. Perry also got plenty of attention from the media for her personal life this year. She split from comedian husband Russell Brand in December.

  2. The only reason why gaga isn't higher on the list is because she hasn't been touring from may '11 to may '12. SHE'S GONNA SLAYYY THIS LIST NEXT YEAR

  4. You Gaga stans act like Britney is just as new to the game as Gaga.... Let's remind you that Britney has been doing this since '98.... Gaga since '08. To still be beasting everyones faves 14 years later is something YOUR FAVE will never do.

  5. I like Britney but seriously the woman can't sing her way out of a paper bag and her dancing is a joke now not to mention the former meth addict isn't even in charge of her own career or estate so yeah bravo to her to keep raking in the cash but the general public thinks she is a joke. Britney is an entertainer NOT a real artist or musician.

    2. L O L $58 million doesn't give a shit about being "an entertainer NOT a real artist or musician." Now, go stand in the corner until you make $58 million in a year.

    3. I know the truth hurts what can you do. Everyone knows Britney's fan base has always been living in a deluded fantasy world much like Brit Brit's state of consciousness.

  7. Its funny how these people say shit about Britney. She's just getting bigger and bigger. Britney is a true star and she will always shine. Who cares about her past... she made it and most of you haters would have ended up in an abituary.

Actually it's her dad's money, you know, since she's still under a conservatorship because she can't make any decisions on her own.
