When will they learn? Don't take shots at artists with mega stan bases?
If you check the mentions for @JohnLegend's Twitter account, he's being dragged by his turtleneck collection by loyal Britney Spears fans after comments about the new X-Factor panel.
"You know it's interesting. It should be very interesting. I don't have much to say," he tells us. "It's interesting when people you know who are judging singing competitions when they aren't really singers. It's interesting."
First off, since when is Demi not a singer? She actually has one of the best voices of the up and coming stars in her bracket (Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber etc). I can only assume he has no idea who she is...
Second, despite Britney not being the strongest vocalist in the industry, you never disrespect someone's craft like that, especially when they're been making more money and entertaining more people doing so than you. It's just not smart. Now he probably can't even log into his Twitter. Poor thing. Even his buddies Kanye & Jay-Z always have nice things to say about Britney.
Legend will co-host a different performance competition show, Duets, with Kelly Clarkson, Robin Thicke & Jennifer Nettles who all sang a different tune...
Robin has a very different opinion on the subject, telling us, "Oh come on, everything Britney does, she excels at. Demi is a lovely young lady, and I'm sure they'll do nothing but make the show a lot more fun to watch
And what about Kelly? "I'm excited for both of them. I'm a big fan of both of them. Both of those girls are super sweet," she gushes. "I think it's fun for them too to just be more out in the public eye again. I think those two are two you really want to root for and you really want them to succeed, so I think that's exciting."
Kelly also thinks Britney and Demi are exactly what The X Factor needs after their somewhat underwhelming first season. "Obviously they are both performers so...I think that show really needs it I don't think everybody latched onto that show like they thought they would," the original American Idol champ tells us.

john legend ur dead to me. you have made a very large fan base very angry. #badmove
ReplyDeletewhat he said is totally True :)
ReplyDeleteWho? I don't know him but like you said Britney it's an entertainer so that's what X Factor needs, someone who guide the guys, and help them to handle the fame, Anonymous plese post ur name you fake flop, don't hide.
ReplyDelete...because Britney handled fame very wisely.
Deletewell she is in the top after 14 years, yep she is making more money that your faves, people keep her talking about her, so yeah she handled fasme very wisely.
DeleteI have to agree with him. When was the last time Britney sang live? 1999?
ReplyDeleteSince when is X-Factor all about singing?
DeleteIt's a music competition....
Deleteagreed with the poster above. truth be told, i love britney songs. but she is a HUGE no for the show. she cant sing live. her personality gone through a lot and i hope is not just gonna add comments like: Oh you were cool or Oh you did ah-mazing etc.
Deletethe last time sang live was on her femme fatale tour, you didn't hear it? oh too bad :( We all know britney is perfect for xfactor, i mean, she's a star, she can do anything, she can sing, she can dance, she can lipsynk, she can run on her stage tour and don't dance, she can act, she can write songs, she can use and don't auto-tune in her songs, she can sing songs written by other people, she has haters, she has fans, she had one of the biggest comebacks in the history of music, and know she is the most well paid female singer of the year according to forbes.
DeleteThe show is about XFactor. About makig ppeople love you without even know how to explain it. Britney defines XFactor.

ReplyDeleteI love what Titi commented because Titi elaborated on Britney's strength and weaknesses.
ReplyDeleteI think Britney needs to learn on articulate speaking first. She could study from Jennifer Lopez who seemed to learn on 'how to be a good judge' on American Idol, which I believe it takes more than just having musical talents & experiences, sharp ears and eyes, but also can string sentences in articulate manner. Reason being, Jennifer Lopez comes across as perfectionist when it comes to her work, and hence, it's highly possible that she even took classes, ask her fellow judges, read books on judging prior showing on the American Idol show.
I seriously doubt that Britney will be a good judge since she's very manufactured, and she lacked articulacy in interviews. I hope she proves me wrong.
The main reason why Britney Spears hired is to boost the rating as she's a global superstar who does have vast fan base. In other words, it's simply about marketing.
