Awful Fucking Single Choices

 

You know what really pisses me off? A bad single choice. Here are some of the worst and most recent offenders.

Britney Spears - "Criminal"

Sure, we got a bitchin' vid for it. Yeah, the world doesn't hear enough of Britney's non-dance music... but c'mon. Singles are released for promotion, so when radio pretty much scoffs at a single's attempt to rise on the charts, you've failed. The blame falls directly on the fans for voting for the one track on the album that had absolutely no chance on radio. I mean, seriously, guys? "Up N Down," "How I Roll" & "Inside Out" and you choose "Criminal?" How shitty of you.

 

Madonna - "Give Me All Your Lovin'"

I get it. This song was meant for the Superbowl and only the Superbowl, but what do the lyrics have to do with football? She must have really though Nicki Minaj and M.I.A were gonna help this song skyrocket on the charts. Wait, when did Nicki Minaj ever have a #1 single? Didn't think so. Seriously, she should have started with "Girl Gone Wild." That song is hot and I'm pretty sure with the same radio deal it could have really done well.

Rihanna - "You Da One"

No even a huge radio deal could help this regurgitated miscarriage of "Inside Out." Urban stations kind of liked it. Pop stations played it here and there, but the fact that this was released instead of "Where Have You Been," which should have been the first single, blows my eyebrows clean off my face.

Beyoncé - Every single from 4 that wasn't "End of Time."

"Run The World" - Another women empowerment anthem?.

"Best Thing I Never Had" - Irreplaceable 2.0.

"Party" & "Countdown" - Were either of these official singles? I stopped caring for promo for this album after a while.

Christina Aguilera - "Not Myself Tonight"

Ok. I actually don't have a  huge problem with this as a single. I just wish it had been "Woo Hoo" first. "Not Myself Tonight" is a good song, but far from the best on the album and definitely one of the more dated sounding. I always tell myself that with "Woo Hoo" being the first single and cooperation from Team Minaj, this could have been a massive hit. Shame on whoever let this not happen.

Mariah Carey - "I Wanna Know What Love Is"

I've never heard this song.

Have You?

Exactly.

Apparently it was a single. I'm not even sure. I just know it's an awful choice because I Wanna Know What This Song Is.

Nicki Minaj - "Stupid Hoe", "Roman In Moscow" & "Massive Attack"

Does this really need explanation? Thank goodness for abortions and buzz singles. That's two singles gone buzz singles gone missing from the album and one that barely made it.
