The new tracks, "Wide Awake" and "Dressin' Up" both have a very... dark-ish sound. They're not that good and they sound like old B-sides. That's a shame. We all knew that we could've expected this lame ass re-release, but the new songs don't live up to expectations AT ALL.
There's also a "Tommie Sunshine’s Megasix Smash-Up" on the album, which is a remix of the six singles Katy has released. It's cute, but I don't need a megamix on an album like this. Would've been fun as an online remix or whatever.
Too bad Katy's team wants to have so many sales for one album.

I was expecting better tracks for the other 2 new ones. I remember when the demo for Dressin' Up came out and people were comparing it to Gaga's Electric Chapel hahaha. The megamix is completely pointless. Since I'm a music fanatic, I'm just going to get the two new tracks since it is Katy Perry. She needs a good long break and then a new album later in 2013.

ReplyDeleteI love Katy Perry, but those 2 songs are terrible, the demo version of 'Dressin Up' was far better than what it is now. This re-release is starting to look more like a cry for help tbh.
ReplyDeletei bet they wanted her to do some new songs but right when she was supposed 2 record something went down with russel...so that had to polish those crappy b sides......first one isn't too bad....but second one is garbage. and that megamix is shit......chris cox should have done it.
