It's no secret that Simon Curtis is a huge Britney Spears fan. He's referenced her on several occasions in songs, but this one particular song upset one of the biggest production teams of all time.
The track is actually produced by Bloodshy & Avant, you know, the guys who wrote "Toxic." According to Simon himself, the duo sent him two tracks, one he wrote "Detox" to and the other they took back and along with the clutch turned it into Britney's first dubstep song, "Freakshow." Unfortunately for Simon B&A mistook the Britney references as some sort of massive shade (considering her being mid-meltdown at this point). They were so offended that they took the song back, didn't finish the production and never spoke with Simon again. I guess it's good to know that they love Britney as much as we do. I love that they were so protective over her. Too bad they were completely wrong about the meaning of the song! The song made it's way online in late 2011.
Simon Curtis apparently has no hard feelings towards the duo. In our short Twitter conversation he said "It's Bloodshy & Avant! Freakin' loved that song. Shame nothing happened with it." Britney, of course, probably has no idea about any of this.
It's not a new leak, but this is totally new information and kind of funny if you ask me.
