Marcus Collins, who you may know from the UK version of the X Factor, has premiered his first music video.
"Seven Nation Army", his new single, is a cover of a The White Stripes song which got released back in 2003. Marcus has turned the single's sound into a mix of reggae and pop which turns out into such a funky song. He really has made it his own.
The video is cute as well. The whole hands/arms thing is cute, Marcus is cute, the little reverse effects are cute and the simplicity of the video is cute.
Will this go to #1 in the UK... I doubt it, but it's a good cover and it could maybe surprise us in the charts. What are your thoughts?
Check it out below.
I just find it strange, that for a gay man, he's got all those female hands touching him. I don't get why all talent show contestants who are gay are pushed down the "I'm straight for music" route. Will Young, Joe McElderry, now Marcus.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't just be awkward if it were male hands though? I don't think music videos should have homosexuality like that (maybe another debate for Live From Mars?). I think that it would also send the wrong message to kids.
ReplyDeleteif anything they could have just had androgynous hands
ReplyDeletemale and female, no nail varnish
