We knew her sweep at the Grammy Awards would have an impact that would help keep her album for at least another month, but who would have thought she would have her biggest week ever?
At first, Hits Daily Double predicted that Adele would sell just under 400,000 albums, but as the week goes on and her sales continue to multiply, her prediction is looking to be more near 600,000.
Seriously, who in America doesn't have this album already. Are the homeless now scraping their change together and hitting up record stores? How is she doing this!? This is insane!
Congrats, though! Your success is well deserved.

I bought 3 copies yesterday, one for myself and the other 2 for gifts. And why are you surprised? It's one of the greatest albums music history has seen in recent years, of course it will sell like a beast. It's a once in a lifetime album. I would even dare to call it the modern day Thriller.

ReplyDeleteOh, and her worldwide sells must be what, 25 million copies sold? Double that and it's already the second best-selling album in history. If she could do that in less than a year, think about how many copies she'll sell in 10, 15, 20 years? Goodbye Thriller for sure.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call it a 'modern day Thriller', I think it's had such a huge impact because it came at a time where everyone else in the industry is making dance music and are in favour of autotune etc, whereas she just uses her raw talent of her voice. The main reason Adele is so successful is because her music has a large audience, it's not aimed at a specific group. But "21" isn't gonna change the music industry, whereas Thriller did.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, outside of the singles I don't care for the album. I think it's generic and doesn't showcase any kind of vocal skills except power. I do recognize it's popularity, though.
ReplyDeleteOf court you don't. You wouldn't call 90% of Britney's music generic. Smh...

ReplyDeleteBritney Spears is one of the few pop stars artists I love. I actually hate when people that don't know me try to use that as an argument. It's ignorant.
ReplyDeleteTry again and next time why don't you read about the dozens of other, non pop stars I praise far more than Britney, like Regina Spektor or Inara George.
martian i want to suck your dick tbh, while rolling in the deep plays in the bg *.*
ReplyDeletelmfao.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't know what good/decent pop music was even if a monkey smacked it on your face. The day you praise more Regine Spektor or Inara George please let me know. For now, I'll judge you for the articles you make and all the amount of praise I read from mediocre singers.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Born To Die is also very, very good. My favorite album of 2012 so far.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't noticed, all of our articles are based on current happenings. Regina Spektor hasn't done anything aside from her live album (which we did post and raved about back when the blog was still a tumblr) and the Bird and the Bee hasn't done anything but a remix contest and a Christmas song. We did articles on both. I've also blogged about Regina's upcoming album and talked about how much I loved her.
ReplyDeleteDon't try to belittle my opinion of music because I like Britney Spears. Who the fuck do you think you are? I don't even need you to answer that. You're obviously some pretentious twit who thinks that law revolved around their opinion. Wake the fuck up. People aren't all going to like the same thing. Your definition of "Good Pop" may be considered shit by other people...
I hate to break it to ya, but Britney is still one of the top selling and most awarded female artists of all time. Check your facts. Money talks. Sales mean EVERYTHING. When we look back at history, Britney will have the numbers to prove that the majority of the world loved her and all you will have is your shitty opinion.
*chews gum*
lmao thanks for expanding my point
ReplyDeleteThe Album is crap. Over reated, over eater. Trying to put on the fake Big Black Mama voice, no wonder she loses her voice. Give her credit for song lyrics on a few singles, but the rest is nothing special
