I was really hoping this wasn't true, but TMZ and AP are both reporting that Whitney Houston died today, according to her rep. Kristen Foster.
Whitney was 48 years old. Fuck.
Confirmed: This story has been confirmed.
Story: Whitney Houston was found dead in her tub by singer Ray-J. The call was made by one of Ray-J's associates from a Beverly Hilton phone to 911. Ambulances arrived on the scene two minutes after the call was made. The death is being pushed as "health related."
Update: Clive Davis cancels annual Grammy Party. The event is now only open to close friends.
Update: Ex-husband Bobby Brown cancels tour dates with New Edition.
Update: Bobby Brown returns to stage with New Edition, but quickly begans having crying fits.

There is an eerie silence in my house right now. When you think of artist who inspire... artist who drove music to what it is today, Whitney Houston is right at the top of the list. Any female vocalist out today, from Beyoncé to Christina Aguilera to even Lady Gaga and Britney Spears have cited Whitney Houston are a major source of inspiration.
She was the voice of her generation that echoed through the power chords of the few vocalist we have left today.
