2012 Grammy Predictions

Even though I am 100% anti-Grammy, I still do enjoy watching award shows just for the fact that I get to make jokes about Keri Hilson parking cars and Brandy vacuuming the red carpet. With that in mind, I went ahead and did my predictions. Who I think will win and sometimes who actually deserves to win.

Most people won't agree with this, but this is really a magnificent production and I really think out of these nominees, Katy Perry deserves this.

#Rant - I just really don't agree with how the Grammy Awards are constructed. It's an award show based on the the personal choices of people in the music industry. Basically, the more clout you have, the greater chance of winning you have. It's a popularity contest within the industry. When we have an artist up for an award, no matter what it is, of course we (I work for a Marketing/PR agency) are going to vote for our artist. That looks good on us, as well as the artist.

It just seems kind of bogus to me that the award show with the highest esteem seems the most corrupt. At least with the VMAs MTV admits to dishing out awards for money, performances and future promotion. Are there any award shows out their based on sales and fan vote? That's what we need. Allow the people to decide what's "good music."
