Regina Spektor Speaks on Her Immigration

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Regina Spektor has recently announced that she would put on a benefit concert for HIAS, the organization that helped move her family out of Soviet Russia to the United States. Yesterday, she released an interview with them, discussing her imagination and expectations vs. realism.

Watching this interview really opened my eyes to hear creative process. She wasn't even a teenager when this happened, and, as she said, she imagined everything like a story book. No wonder all of her songs are stories. That's how she see's the world.

She then goes on to talk about making videos and music more recently.

Oh, and she looks amazing! She is maturing like a swan.

Later this month I'll be starting a new section of the blog that will be accessible by clicking the "Featured" button on the navigation bar. It was talk you to the current "Get To Know" article, where I talk about my favorite artists that aren't megastars, but deserve to be heard. Regina Spektor will be our first subject.

  2. I like her, bu i don't like when some artists (like her) record an album, and after hundred years, record another.
