I thought it would be fun to go back and revisit some fun, notable or random events in music history on #ThrowbackThursday.
This week, I settled on a clip from the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. Legendary divas (and supposed rivals), Miss Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston came out to present the award for 'Best Male Video' only to find out they were wearing the same dress! What ensued was absolutely hilarious.
"Nice dress," said Mariah.
"Yeah, um. You look pretty good too, you do," Whitney quipped.
The line delivery was just priceless and Mariah and Whitney were in full character. I wonder what the teleprompter or script said because the slight improv and adding in little bits here and there really contributes to the hilarity of the whole skit.
Not to mention Mariah punching out the VMA's relevance: "Let's see how good the nominees for this little award are." Shady......Loves it!
