I compare Missy Elliott to artist like Gwen Stefani. When they're not making music, we're still talking about their last work's impact, reveling in the flawlessness of their unique sound. Very few artist can miss out on being as huge as, say Rihanna, but still manage to never disappoint when it comes to their music, and their loyal fans will tell you, when Missy or Gwen or Shakira or any artist of the caliber in the US comes out with a new hit, everyone knows it's going to be incredible.
Missy Elliott just gave us a taste of her upcoming album, Block Party, with a snippet of "9th Inning." I was expecting Missy to come out with a typical ass-shaker's anthem, but she came for blood, lyrically. Love it. My body is ready.
