actually pink coloured hair has been around since the 1970s, long before gwen stefani. Fashion and style become the "in" thing, then the fizzle out. Years later it comes back full swing. As for Xtina copying, she's never copied anyone. If Xtina is copying someone than Lady Gaga's "monsters" need to admit that she's copying Madonna.
yea, i mistyped, i meant she popularized the trend in within the past 10 years in pop culture, but popular artists before her have done it (e.g.: cyndi lauper)
gwen grew up around the punk/ska scene in cali and has stated on many occasions how it's directly influenced her d.i.y. style, and has been obviously apparent since before no doubt became famous.
i feel gaga's as much influenced by madonna as she is billy joel/and his singer songwriter contemporaries and david bowie/the glam rock aesthetic though; she took all of those influences and synthesized them into the creative output of her gaga persona; from her look to her lyricism.
and most pop stars "steal" and "copy." nothing is inherently it's own, especially when it comes to art; there's always a direct source of inspiration for every artistic movement and style.
Xtina did it before those "other artists" and she's doing it again this time. So excited for her new video!
ReplyDeleteReally Martin?

Gaga is only good at stealing and copying, not getting inspired.
