Some rehearsal footage of Madonna's upcoming MDNA tour has leaked and guess what... Madge has planned to do a mash-up of "Express Yourself" and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way".
Madge... I don't know if this was the right thing to do, but it was kinda predictable. What do you think?
I bought her new album in hopes of supporting her...but after this...not gonna happen anymore!!! It's an incredibly tacky move..she already said she thought it was a ripoff (I still don't see it) and now to do something as shady as this is just shit!!

She has all rights to pull this epic of a shade.... it's been a couple years now that gaga has been consistantly ripping off madonna without being called out for it as big as this... Even though the "cone bra" was implicitly COPIED (Gaga used machine guns), Gaga never actually did CONE bras - Madonna is LITERALLY copying. :)

DeleteRolling with the punches, but lip-synching is the same as miming, which some artists like Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Madonna have done = MIME. Madonna's better about it - - - it's been a long time since I've seen her do it.
DeleteHaving a backing vocal track is not the same as lip-synching. Backing tracks are lower/higher than the person's regular singing voice.
I'm glad Lady Gaga is not like Madonna, because if Madonna died I'd weep, but if Lady Gaga died I would die too. We'd both be on the edge of glory - crying at Heaven's Door. But with Madonna, she says she's going to hell + she has a lot of friends there, and I'd rather not be there.
ReplyDeleteMadonna is literally co-opting Gaga's message. Realizing and stating that your were BORN THIS WAY is different than simply "expressing yourself". BEFORE you express yourself, you've gotta know who you are, and who you are is BORN THIS WAY, then you can Express Yourself. Gaga's message is much more introspective than Express Yourself. But I love hearing Express Yourself even now.

Madonna got "Express Yourself" litteraly from "Respect Yourself". It is very bitchy of her to do this mash-up and also add "she's not me" to it. But she's always been a bitch and the biggest copycat in history, so I guess my expectations were too high when I say I thought she was above this. I respect Madonna and love her old albums, but seriously, one day karma's gonna get her. Also, I have no problem with copying. She's done it herself and she did a wonderful job of copying Monroe and Garland and so on, so she shouldn't be a bitch about the fact that Gaga used the same chord progression that was used in nearly every pop song in the 80's. such BS.
