Billboard is reporting that with the mother's day sales boost, Adele and Carrie Underwood will be neck-and-neck in a race to the coveted #1 spot on the Billboard 200 Album chart.
I'm totally team Carrie Underwood, just for the record...
...but if Adele gets this #1 again! Like, who the fuck does not own this album? How can she still be maxing 80,000 copies a week, every week?
With the Mother's Day holiday falling at the end of the tracking week (Sunday, May 13), a good many shoppers may find that "Blown Away" or "21" are the perfect gift for the mom in their lives. (Yes, despite how "21" is closing in on 9 million U.S. sales according to Nielsen SoundScan, there are still many that don't own the album yet.)
I don't even know what to say. That will make 24 weeks at #1.
