What To Expect on Rihanna's Next Album?

Friday, June 29, 2012

Surprise! Rihanna is rushing out ANOTHER album and chances are it will be done in time for a winter release (though Rih claims now there is no date set for 2012). Most recently, Ne-Yo was seen visiting the studio to help pen a few tracks for the singer. Hopefully he won't be singing on them, just producing. Also rumored to be hitting the studio with Rih is Swedish House Mafia, who produced a few gems on Usher's lastest album, Looking For Myself, as well as Sean Garrett. There's a rumor that Calvin Harris has also spent some time crafting for Rihanna, but there's no legit sources saying that.

Rihanna was also seen at the same studio as Shakira at the same time, so a duet from these two would not be out of the question, especially since Shakira recently signed to Roc Nation. Hello, label mates! (Praying for this to be true, to be honest).

Scary fact. Britney Spears has 7 albums. This will be Rihanna's 7th album.
Britney Spears is 6 out of 7 on #1 albums. Rihanna is 0 for 6.

Rihanna needs to slow down. She's been refusing a seat too long, but I guess it's understandable when the money pours in like water. I just wish she'd take the time out to work with newer producers, write some lyrics that doesn't sound like they were last minute and really give up some quality music that people will care about in 20 years. I'm still waiting on that life-changing anthem! I need Rihanna to give me her Ray of Light or FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Though I will say that Mikey from TGJ brought up a good point in our Rivals post; A lot of Rihanna's singles hold a lot of weight in the industry today, especially since single sales are way up and album sales are way down.

What are you expecting from Rihanna's newest album?

I'm expecting:
- "Take A Bow" 2.0
- A duet with Shakira.
- Another song that sounds just like "Rude Boy" and "Roc Me Out"
- Title: "#ThugLife"
- The deluxe version will come with a dime bag of weed
- A Drake diss track
- #2 debut on Billboard
- Two more #1 singles on the Hot 100

  2. I'm expecting that she gets into a car accident and her voice stars to fail and that she'll never sing anymore, giving us, finally some rest.

  4. i really love her work ethic and drive and the breadth of her pop musical experimentation.

when she first mentioned she was developing the sound of the album she was really into tupac and weed so i'm thinking gangsta rap and her current status as president of the not many fucks coalition will be the inspiration.

i want "g4l [pt.II], wait your turn [pt.II]" and "fire bomb [pt. II]."

she confirmed that she spent three days in the studio with burns so we'll probably be getting another big dance anthem similar to "we found love."

  5. Well some of us like music to come out quick...who cares lol. Some of you guys need to STOP having so much shade because in a way, you are limiting yourself to the amount of music you can listen to.
