Over the past 24 hours, I've heard more about Rita Ora than I have all year. Crazy thing is, it's not even really about the music. It's all about how over the next year she's potentially going to become the next "it" girl in pop music.
First thing that happened what Rita interviewing and saying Jay-Z told her she could be as big as Rihanna. Crazy, seeing how their images and style are so similar.
"I don't think there will be a next Rihanna," she says. "But I think [Jay Z] definitely sees me as someone who could be as big as Rihanna. She's a superstar now but they first knew her as a small-island girl – and they want to repeat that success."
Then came the Destiny's Child Beyoncé tribute, which Beyoncé and Jay-Z both attended...
...and here are the pics of Jay-Z and Bey sneaking around!
This was, of course, followed by the typical delusional fan speculation of a collaboration with Beyoncé... which turned out to be more likely than not.
It's safe to say Jay-Z has big plans for launching his latest project and after the major success of Rihanna, I highly doubt they will fall short.
Do you think Rita could one day be as big as Rihanna or is her hype superficial?

I'm willing to give her a chance, but I haven't liked anything she's put out yet. And the situation with her hair color vs those eyebrows needs to be handled.
ReplyDeleteIf she releases something as good as Rihanna then I'll give her a chance, but as of right now she bores me tbh.
