Confession: I have been absolutely loving Teenage Dream for the past few months. I couldn't really get into it when it first came out, but after a while songs like "Circle the Drain" and "The (#1) That Got Away" have really been growing on me. Now, many moons after it's original release, Katy is attaching a very short EP to the original Teenage Dream LP and calling it The Complete Confection... and it's so sweet.
The addition only boasts three new tracks, one of which has already smashed Billboard's Hot 100 and Digital Charts, and is creeping up the pop charts. At times, I wish "Part of Me" could switch places with "Circle the Drain" because it seems just a little edgier. Still, I admire the P!nk-ish rock feel that both songs seem to have and I love that Katy did something a little different what's expected from a Top 40 artist.
The next song to hit the net was "Wide Awake" which was admittedly underwhelming at first, but once I paid attention to the lyrics, I sort of fell in love. It's a song that everyone can really relate to, because everyone's had their heart broken, whether it was smashed into a million pieces or simply cracked right up the middle. Still, I don't think this would be a wise single choice, if such things can dare be said about Katy Perry. It's not particularly catchy. It doesn't really stand out. It sounds like a bonus track.
"Dressin' Up" is the complete opposite. It takes me back to One of the Boys Katy Perry that was more saucy and flirty. The only complaint I have is that I was fully expect a heavy dubstep breakdown. I felt like the song built up for it plenty of times, but it never came. With that said, pretty much everyone is doing dubstep these days, so I guess she surprised my by not conforming.
The addition is nice. Anyone that hasn't bough Teenage Dream, I recommend you check this out. You can pre-order on iTunes and Amazon now.

I really like the new songs a lot!!! I just feel like only adding 3 new ones plus the megamix of the 6 singles wasn't enough for the re-release. There should have been more!!
