That awkward moment when the new artist set to take over the music industry in 2012 give her first major performance and fucks up. Ok, it wasn't quite that bad, but it was definitely not up to par with the hype that she's been getting. Even the one post we have about her on the blog was one of the biggest last week.
So what went wrong? Well, her voice was extremely flat at first, then she had random, off-key melisma in other places. She was shaky, then she went for this high note towards the end that was so bad it made my skin dry. You would think that she's never sang live or even heard herself sing before. You could tell the audience didn't enjoy it either, because there is usually an eruption of applause on SNL. Not tonight. Not sure if it was a bad case of the nerves, or if her career is peaking before it really begins.
Bottom line; Lana fell flat on her rumored-to-be reconstructed face. She has two chances to redeem herself, as she'll make an appearance on David Letterman and Ellen next week. We wish her the best, but she's gotta step her game up or she'll loose her American artist before her debut.

She reminded me of Kristen Stewart with Adele's singing voice, well attempting Adele's voice. I hope nothing but the best for her, can't wait to see her on Ellen to see if she improves!
ReplyDeleteI feel kinda bad for her. This should have been her night. She should really get a vocal coach and control those nerves. She wasn't able to project that charm that her songs have. It sounded as if she hadn't properly rehearsed and was paying around with the songs.
ReplyDeleteShe's a very sweet and talented girl nonetheless, I wish her the very best.
She needed to really take her breaths ..you could tell she was running out of air with some of the verses ...so sad I had hoped for this to be her breakthrough
ReplyDeleteI liked... but she was kinda nervous. I still loving her.
ReplyDeleteI love blue jeans and was disappointed that she didn't perform that well but i still love her music and hope nothing but the best for her and hope she goes super far because i like her lol
